Thomas Schumann® is a pioneer in sustainability. His birthplace, Frankfurt am Main, Germany’s financial capital, and the 2015 world’s most sustainable city according to the Sustainable Cities Index inspired his path.
Thomas discovered his passion for sustainability in 1985 when he co-pioneered a circular economy for recycled Levis 501 denim jeans.
At the onset of one of California’s Millennial Drought in 2011 Thomas’s passion for positive social and environmental impact, sustainability, and responsible investing evolved to “Water Security” by helping water technology and large-scale California desalination ventures with their private equity needs.
At the 28th Annual SRI Conference, San Diego in November 2017 Thomas realized that helping global capital markets integrate water risk in equities into investment decisions represents the most impactful and profitable path to advance the Agenda 2030, “Transforming our World”, specifically UN SDG 6 “Water Security”.
To fast-track his mission, Thomas leverages 36 years of endurance sports, masters distance running, triathlon, and livelong pursuit of health, fitness, and wellness to maintain daily peak performance.
Thomas’s thought leadership, advisory, image, and likeness are available to corporates, and financial institutions that seek alignment with UN Sustainable Development Goal 6. Thomas Schumann® licensing proceeds are reinvested into charities for “Clean Water and Sanitation for All”.
For every $1.00 invested in safe drinking water and sanitation, the World Health Organization estimates returns of $3.00 – $34.00.
